Summer is on the Horizon…

When the days get a little warmer, the nights a little shorter and people get a jaunty spring in their step, you know summer is just around the corner. Which means it’s time to welcome back Monteith’s Summer Ale.

To celebrate the seventh year of Monteith’s Summer Ale, Monteith’s concept bars will be ushering in the beginning of daylight savings this Sunday, October 2nd with the exclusive launch of the Ale, followed a week later by the general trade launch on October 10th.

“The beginning of daylight savings really lets people know that summer is, if not here, then definitely on the way. We want to give drinkers at Monteith’s bars the first chance to celebrate the longer days and the brighter sunshine – it’s the perfect time of year to enjoy the refreshing taste of Monteith’s Summer Ale,” says Monteith’s brand manager Jacqui Jones.

Now in its seventh year on the market, Monteith’s Summer Ale still stands out in the marketplace as an innovative beer with its spice notes and Rata honey infusion that makes it a unique taste experience within the beer category.

Despite continually growing in popularity, Monteith’s Summer Ale remains a summer seasonal release, usually available up until the end of March. And that’s not likely to change according to Jacqui Jones.

“Monteith’s Summer Ale has many of the characteristics of summer and one of those is that like summer, it is not available all year round. It is the contrast of the cold of winter that makes summer so appealing and similarly Monteith’s Summer Ale contrasts some of the other Monteith’s beers which are more suited to drinking in winter.

“The warm weather also suits the beer’s thirst quenching flavours which can really refresh the drinker.”

Monteith’s Summer Ale is a bright gold 5% alcohol beer with great body derived from the use of four different malts. It is spiced with a single hop variety and special brewing spices, whilst a touch of New Zealand history - a little Rata honey - adds a hint of sweetness. The result is a truly refreshing, herbal spiced summer ale.
