Subaru NZ welcomes FHI shareholding change
Subaru of New Zealand has welcomed the change of external share holding in Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru Japan's parent company.
Subaru of New Zealand is an independent distributor for FHI and is owned by British based Inchcape Motors International Plc.
Inchcape has a long term agreement to import and distribute Subaru vehicles in New Zealand and Australia.
"This change to a minority shareholding can only be positive news for us," said Subaru of New Zealand's General Manager, Wallis Dumper.
"Subaru of New Zealand has one of the world's top market share results for the brand. It has won many awards over the years, so Subaru customers should experience no change in the way we do business."
Mr. Dumper said the change in shareholding in FHI can only add value to Subaru, with Toyota's technology complementing Subaru's passion and engineering skills and the invisible advantage of Subaru's symmetrical All Wheel Drive boxer engined cars.
