Lust inspired at fashion-meets-furnishings show

Sin in the city

American Express inspires lust in some of New Zealand's best at fashion-meets-furnishings show

Serena gorged herself on rich chocolate; Anna struggled to extricate herself from the bed. Evy was despised, while Paris nearly drowned in her own reflection. As Sadie reclined provocatively on the chaise, Princess was ready to smash an expensive vase on her beau's head for standing her up. Madison just wanted to shop.

A new reality TV show? Not quite. These were the 'tableaux' presented by models at an exclusive American Express fashion-meets-furnishings-meets-jewellery night at the premises of Cavit & Co in Auckland last night, Thursday 13 October.

An inspired alternative to catwalk fashion shows, here guests mingled and interacted with the models styled, in this instance, to interpret the Seven Deadly Sins.

Sets were designed around the furnishings of Cavit &Co, the latest fashion designs of Karen Walker and exquisite Chopard and Autore jewellery from Partridge Jewellers.

The models revelled in the opportunity to showcase usually hidden talents, following cheeky and edgy storylines as guests roamed at their leisure to sample interpretations of gluttony, sloth, greed, envy, pride, anger and, of course, lust. One Golden Diamond-encrusted necklace from Chopard was alone worth $338,000.

As a warm-up to Fashion Week, guests were left lusting for more.
