Cruise the exotic waters of South East Asia

New Zealand’s most popular cruise liner Pacific Sky heads east in February with a season of cruises out of Singapore.

P&O Cruises is offering voyages from Singapore to a raft of South East Asian ports in 2006 calling at both cosmopolitan centres and island resort towns.

Some of Thailand and Malaysia’s most idyllic destinations are included in two, seven-night itineraries – sailing east and west from Singapore – which can be combined into an extended Asian exploration.

“Pacific Sky’s Asian season gives Kiwis a different, secure and relaxing way of exploring the Orient,” says Shannon Currie, P&O Cruises NZ development manager.

“These cruises provide travellers with a unique Asian experience visiting a selection of exotic destinations in one holiday without the stress of having to arrange travel and accommodation in different and unfamiliar locations.”

The seven-night Eastern Sunsets voyages sail from Singapore to the delightful island of Koh Samui before anchoring in bustling Bangkok for two days. Pacific Sky then sets sail for the beautiful Malaysian port of Kuantan.

Alternatively, cruisers can sail on the seven-night western itinerary or combine it with the eastern cruise for a two-week holiday.

On the Western Tropics itinerary, Pacific Sky calls at Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Phuket and Penang before returning to Singapore.

Fares on the seven-night cruises are priced from $2,295* per person in a complete four berth cabin and $2,745* per person in a twin-berth.

The 14-night combination of both east and west itineraries is priced from $3,165* per person in a complete four berth cabin or $3,995* per person twin-berth. Fly/cruise/stay deals are also available.

The 1,550-passenger Pacific Sky is based in Singapore from February to October 2006, providing 33 Asian cruises tailored for New Zealanders and Australians, with onboard currency in Australian dollars.

Pacific Sky features two pools, two restaurants, alfresco steakhouse, 24-hour pizzeria, show-lounge, cinema, nine bars and lounges, indoor and outdoor nightclub, casino, library and two kids’ clubs.
