Bluebridge Helps Spread 'Check, Clean, Dry' Message

Operator of the Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferry service, Strait Shipping, is working with Biosecurity New Zealand to help raise awareness of Didymo and the need to clean equipment or vehicles that have been in contact with Southern lakes and waterways before crossing Cook Strait.

Strait Shipping managing director Sheryl Ellison says the company welcomes Biosecurity's controlled area approach and is working with the organisation to help spread the 'Check, Clean, Dry' message through signage, on the ground educators, pamphlets and flyers.

"With peak season upon us it is extremely important that the message to clean equipment gets through to the high volume of people traveling across Cook Strait from the South and we're making spreading the word a priority."
