$2 Million Lotto First Division Jackpot Shared

14 January 2006

$2 Million Lotto First Division Jackpot Shared By Cromwell And Auckland Tickets

Two Lotto tickets, one bought Cromwell and the other in Auckland, have each scooped a $1 million First Division Lotto prize, in tonight's draw, says NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Trevor Hall.

The First Division winning tickets were bought at Cromwell New World, Cromwell and Countdown Highland Park, Auckland.

"You couldn't wish for a better way to start the New Year than $1 million. Lotto players in Cromwell and Auckland should check their tickets, as the Lotto First Division prizes, from the weekend, are just waiting to be claimed," Mr Hall says.

Powerball First Division was not won and has jackpotted to an estimated $2.5 million for next week's draw. Strike Four also jackpotted to an estimated $900,000.

Wellington's Tony Herrick, was another winner in tonight's draw when he spun the Winning Wheel. The wheel stopped on $300,000 and he says he was "over the moon" about winning the prize.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Mr Hall said winning tickets are identified by the serial number at the bottom right of every Lotto ticket. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

This week's Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Foodtown Greenlane, Auckland. The serial number is 137-59832841-20XX.
