Silent One Docked At Lyttelton Port Company
Wellington based software company, Silent One Ltd has completed another implementation of its flag ship document management solution, "SilentOne", this time at the Lyttelton Port of Christchurch (LPC).
LPC selected SilentOne after a full evaluation of a number of document management products. Darrin Bain, Information Technology Manager for LPC says "SilentOne met all of our requirements and is very cost effective for our organisation. It gives us the ability to expand the solution as we need to in the future."
LPC currently has 335 employees with 200 of them currently able to access the SilentOne solution. The roll out will continue over the next year and the intention is to cover the entire organisation. Staff also access SilentOne via the existing Pi3 application.
Mr Bain says "We have acquired an additional business over the last few months and SilentOne is very adaptable which enables us to add the new business into our own company structure very easily."
"SilentOne gives us the ability to view our documents from an 'asset-centric' or a 'customer-centric' point of view. It means that office staff and port workers can see the same information but in a format that they are comfortable with."
Chief Executive of Silent One Limited, Peter Yarrall says "We are very committed to expanding our customer base in the South Island and the Lyttelton Port of Christchurch implementation is a further step in the right direction."
"We have a totally New Zealand owned and developed product and it is great to see other New Zealand owned companies supporting a local vendor," says Mr Yarrall.
SilentOne provides the ability to have a managed repository of electronic and paper documents, with full version control, rich metadata, document-level security, workflow and lifecycle management.
The SilentOne software integrates with Microsoft Office, enabling users to create, share and manage documents from within Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project and Outlook. The design of the product provides for easy integration with third party applications. Full web access is also provided.
Silent One Ltd has also developed a cross-platform EDMS solution written predominately in Java that runs independently in Netware, Linux and Unix environments.
Silent One Ltd is a NZ owned privately held company, which has been in business for seven years so understands the constant pressures and demands on organisations to have accurate management of their documentation.
