Harcourts Southland Celebrates Outstanding January

Harcourts Southland Celebrates Outstanding January

Ongoing confidence in Southland property demonstrated by both local residents as well as investors saw Harcourts’ Invercargill and Gore sales consultants celebrating writing 91 sales contracts for the month of January 2006.

That averages out to three written property sales per day totalling just on $14.8 million, or just under half a million dollars worth each day of the month.

Business Owner of the two offices, Tony Jenkins said, “Given that the first two weeks of January can be virtually lost in terms of real estate activity due to the Christmas break, this level of sales confirms that confidence in Southland remains high. Who said the market was quiet?”

Mr Jenkins noted his sales consultants reporting a combination of local residents “trading up” in property as well as a steady flow of rental property investors from throughout New Zealand and Australia.

The strong demand from those wanting to rent good quality property in Invercargill was also helping to keep confidence in the property market high.

On the heels of such a good month, Mr Jenkins advises that “vendors who want to meet the market will sell their properties as we are still enjoying multiple offers on good quality well priced and well marketed properties”.
