Sue Gould Stunned By $500,000 Winning Wheel
Palmerston North's Sue Gould Stunned By $500,000 Winning Wheel Spin
Palmerston North's Sue Gould has won $500,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel tonight, said NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Trevor Hall tonight.
Ms Gould said "I'm stunned, it is just so wonderful.
"I never imagined something like this could happen to me, it always happens to other people. I'm the sort of person who wins nothing more than the odd meat pack," said Ms Gould.
Mr Hall said he would like to congratulate Ms Gould, and her family, on behalf of the whole team at NZ Lotteries.
"What a fantastic way to kick off the new year, to go on to our live draw, spin the Winning Wheel and come away $500,000 richer."
Ms Gould, who is a regular Lotto player, bought her winning Winning Wheel ticket at Melody's New World in Palmerston North.
She plans to use some of the money to ensure her two daughters have a "student-loan free" future.
In her spare time, Ms Gould enjoys reading, netball, rugby and theatre.
Ms Gould is the second Winning Wheel spinner in a row to win $500,000 after John Smith from Napier spun and won half a million dollars live on last weeks draw.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Mr Hall said winning tickets are identified by the serial number at the bottom right of every Lotto ticket. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.
This week's Winning Wheel ticket was sold at New World Waikanae. The serial number is 180-10421803-20XX
