UK Invasion Brings Top Sellers to New Zealand

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UK Invasion Brings Top Sellers to New Zealand

Some of the biggest names in travel will land in New Zealand to take part in Tourism New Zealand’s ‘UK Mega Famil’.

The companies represent each sector of the travel distribution chain, from wholesalers to retailers and on line sellers, and have been given the chance to attend due to their commitment to selling New Zealand in the UK.

120 travel agents from around the UK will be hosted by Tourism New Zealand and will have a chance to learn about the country whilst meeting RTOs and operators, and experiencing the tourism offer.

Tourism New Zealand says that the most effective form of training is to give agents the opportunity to visit New Zealand themselves and experience first-hand the products that they learn about.

The event will be split into two parts. Firstly, two days of training for all 120 Kiwi Specialist agents, held over two days in Auckland on the 25 and 26 March 2006. Secondly, each attending agent will be involved in one of eight separate famil itineraries to be hosted pre and post the training event.

Most New Zealand regions will be covered, with agents from companies such as Trailfinders, Flight Centre and Thomas Cook visiting up to 3 regions during their stay. They will also be hosted at a Gala dinner to celebrate their participation and provide a networking opportunity with the New Zealand tourism industry.

The increase in quality, in depth knowledge and experience will mean greater awareness of New Zealand for each agent participating in the Mega Famil, and will help these key UK sellers to better understand how to sell their companies' New Zealand programmes.
