NZ's fastest broadband - now you can surf longer

New Zealand’s fastest broadband plans - now you can surf for longer

The fastest broadband plans in New Zealand just got better.

TelstraClear announced new plans today that will see an increase to traffic allowances and a decrease in additional usage rates.

The new plans, available to homes on TelstraClear’s network in Wellington and Christchurch, range in traffic size from an entry-level HighSpeed 1GB plan, through to the aptly named LightSpeed 80G.

TelstraClear Head of Consumer Markets Steve Jackson says the new plans provide better value for money, allowing customers to choose a plan with vastly increased traffic allowances - with no increase in price.

“TelstraClear’s new plans will suit all customers needs, with HighSpeed 1GB, 5, 10 and 20GB, and LightSpeed 40GB and 80GB plans”, he says.

TelstraClear’s LightSpeed 40GB and LightSpeed 80GB plans offer download speeds of up to 10MB/S - almost three times as fast as those other competitors will offer. This provides superior speed and quality for surfing the Internet, downloading music and videos and playing online games.

Mr Jackson says customers who signed up for HighSpeed and LightSpeed plans from November last year will automatically get the upgrade to the new plans.

“Those customers don’t need to do anything. Come tomorrow they’ll notice everything gets a lot faster and they can surf even more.”

“Customers on the HighSpeed 200MB plan will automatically be upgraded to HighSpeed 1GB, while our largest plan previously, LightSpeed 20GB, has now been increased to 80GB, for the same price,” he says.

TelstraClear’s broadband plans are part of a triple play package with telephone line rental and digital/cable TV. Most of these plans can be purchased separately.

TelstraClear’s InHome telephone line rental will stay at $31.95 per month - even though Telecom recently increased its line rentals in the Wellington, Kapiti and Christchurch areas to $34.80 per month.

Line rental in the Wellington, Kapiti and Christchurch areas is lower than the rest of New Zealand because TelstraClear provides a choice.

TelstraClear’s new digital television service, launched last August, offers high quality sound and picture across 92 television, radio and pay to view channels. The new digital TV service can be trialled at Harvey Norman stores in the Wellington and Christchurch areas.
