Beat the winter blues on Norfolk Island
Kiwis can unwind this winter in scenic serenity on sub-tropical Norfolk Island with special seven-night holiday and one-way fares announced yesterday.
The internet-only fares are $199 one way plus airport and government costs of $40. The fares are per person and are valid for travel from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch flying on Air New Zealand.
You can also grab a seven night holiday for $699 (plus airport and government costs of $71) including return flights and twin share accommodation.
The sale[1] runs from today (March 29) until April 14 and is for travel between July 1 and September 21, 2006 including the July school holidays.
Just an hour and forty-five minutes north west of Auckland, Norfolk Island has winter temperatures hovering at about 12 degrees Celsius overnight and up to 21 degrees during the day.
“We are simply a perfect scenic location if you want to shake out those winter blues – and Norfolk is so close to New Zealand,” says Norfolk Island Tourism general manager Steve McInnes.
If you prefer an action packed holiday then Norfolk Island has plenty on offer. From kayaking and bush walks to snorkelling and historical tours - there is something for everyone.
For those who would rather relax, Norfolk Island is the perfect scenic location to unwind and savour the natural beauty of the bush and beaches.
Norfolk Island is celebrating its sesquicentenary in 2006 so there’s an abundance of things to do and see as the community commemorates the arrival of its Mutiny on the Bounty ancestors 150 years ago.
