RadioWorks' Top Music Station Audience Positions

Thursday 13 April 2006

The Edge And The Rock Networks Secure Top Music Station Audience Positions

RadioWorks’ networks The Edge and The Rock have each taken a number one position for the music network with the most number of listeners*, and the greatest share of commercial radio listening** for a music network respectively.

The Edge has a total audience of 409,800* listeners nationally every week – 26,700 ahead of its nearest music network rival.

The Rock has achieved a 10.2% share of national commercial radio listening**, making it the top music network by audience share.

“This is a really pleasing survey result for The Edge and The Rock,” said RadioWorks Group Programme Director, Jana Rangooni.

“For the first time ever The Rock has also achieved an audience in Auckland of more than 100,000 listeners, and The Edge remains New Zealand’s most listened to music network,” she said*.

“All of our brands have performed strongly with RadioWorks national share increasing overall, particularly in the key 25-44 demographic,” Ms Rangooni said.

“The Auckland market has been a priority for us as well, and it is pleasing to see our total Auckland share increase by 3.7%,” she said**.

More FM has had a strong improvement in Auckland, and nationally More FM is now the number one station amongst women aged 25-39, the core target of the station#.

“More FM has undergone some significant changes, and to see it number one with its core target audience already is really positive,” said Ms Rangooni.
