Ticket Purchased In Tairua Wins $1.1 Million This Easter

A lucky player who purchased their Lotto ticket in the Coromandel has won $1.1 million in Lotto First Division this Easter Saturday, NZ Lotteries Deputy Chief Executive Warren Salisbury said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Tairua Stationers in Tairua on the Coromandel and is worth $1,131,642.

"What a wonderful Easter surprise to win $1.1 million on Lotto First Division," said Mr Salisbury.

Lotto Powerball was not won tonight and has jackpotted to an estimated $10.5 million in next week's draw.

Lotto Strike has also jackpotted this week, to an estimated $400,000 next week.

Nigel Field from Hastings won $200,000 live on television when he spun the Winning Wheel on behalf of his mother-in-law Pam Thompson from Levin.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Mr Salisbury said winning tickets are identified by the serial number at the bottom right of every Lotto ticket. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

This week's Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Countdown Hamilton Lotto Kiosk. The serial number is 227-19431689-20XX.
