Vero Enables Kiwi League Star to Play Anzac Test

New Zealand insurance company, Vero, has provided crucial insurance cover to enable Kiwi league player Benji Marshall to take the field against Australia in this weekend's Anzac test encounter in Brisbane.

The New Zealand Rugby League team's existing insurer had excluded Marshall from its team policy because of his history of existing shoulder injuries. This effectively meant the 21 year old halfback would risk his livelihood if he took to the field, was injured, and then unable to play for his regular NRL team - West Tigers.

Vero Accident and Health has pulled out all stops to create a tailor made policy for the New Zealand Rugby League to cover Marshall if he is injured in the Friday night test.

Vero Accident and Health Manager Mark Keating says, "We are a newly established business unit within the Vero group providing businesses with specialist travel, accident and medical plans. When the New Zealand Rugby League, through its broker, approached us for help we immediately began looking at how we could come up with some terms that would be acceptable to both parties."
