Legendary Leila Number One Again
Legendary eastern suburbs real estate specialist Leila MacDonald is Barfoot & Thompson's number one salesperson again for 2006.
This is the 12th time Leila has held this title in the 14 years she has been with the company. In the year to March she listed and/or sold 51 properties worth a total of more than $110 million. Her average sale was $2.2 million. She sold properties ranging from $636 thousand through to multi million dollar estates. Leila's name is synonymous with Remuera real estate and while just over half of all properties she sold were in Remuera, the rest were in Epsom, the wider eastern suburbs and elsewhere in Auckland. Leila has never been ranked lower than number two at Barfoot & Thompson and headed off a sales force of about 950 people across Auckland and Northland to take the top position in 2006.
This year for the first time Leila was not in attendance at the Barfoot & Thompson annual convention to hear the tributes to her - instead she was a world away in her home country of Lebanon, attending a family wedding. Barfoot & Thompson Director Peter Thompson says, "Family is incredibly important to Leila, who is the proud grandmother of five grandchildren. It's characteristic of Leila to always put family first."
"We were extremely proud to acknowledge Leila and congratulate her on another incredible achievement. Her track record is a mix of superb real estate knowledge, an impressive track record in referrals and repeat business and sheer tenacity."
Leila MacDonald was named top salesperson at Barfoot & Thompson's Convention 2006 at SkyCity where more than 1,500 salespeople, property managers, managers, staff and members of the NZ Realtors group come together to for a two day conference to be challenged and inspired. Top international speakers this year include leading American real estate trainer and motivational speaker Terry Watson; Australian medical doctor and author of "Laughter, Sex, Vegetables and Fish", Dr John Tickell; and All Black coach Graham Henry.
