Big Wednesday's $4 Million Plus Big Winner
It's second time lucky for the Coromandel, after a Big Wendesday ticket sold at New World in Whangamata won $3 million plus two luxury cars, luxury travel, an American Express card loaded with $250,000 cash, a Mustang launch and a $500,000 bach, NZ Lotteries Deputy Chief Executive Warren Salisbury said tonight.
"This is Big Wednesday's second big winner in just over a month and its third big winner this year, proving to our players that our Big Wednesday prizes can be won at any time," said Mr Salisbury.
"The winner will take home cash and luxury prizes worth over $4 million which will be a brilliant surprise for whoever has the winning ticket," says Mr Salisbury.
"I'm absolutely delighted that we've sold our third First Division winning ticket just seven weeks after we sold our second one. The previous winning ticket was sold at Grey Lynn Stationers, Auckland and was claimed by the ticket holder just over a month ago."
This is also the second First Division prize to go to the Coromandel. The first winning ticket was sold in Thames on 8 February and was worth more than $13 million.
"Big Wednesday is proving to be an unpredictable game which is thrilling for us and the players."
Mr Salisbury's advice for the Big Wednesday winner is to write their name and address on the ticket, confirming their ownership.
"They should then contact NZ Lotteries Wellington office who can provide advice about the next steps to take," he said.
"We have people waiting to talk the winner through the prize process. All they need to do is call 04 802 7000," he says.
A ticket sold at Lotto & Wild Thingz in Christchurch, won Big Wednesday's second chance draw, open to all tickets bought for tonight's draw. The ticket holder has won $25,000.
The winning serial number is 254-32817157-13XX.
"Anyone who bought their ticket from this store should check it immediately," Mr Salisbury says.
There were a total of 64,035 winners from tonight's draw.
