$6 Dip Ticket Scoops Big Wednesday Jackpot

Spurred on by Big Wednesday's first big jackpot winner in February, a North Island player bought a $6 dip ticket for Wednesday's draw and ended up winning $4.6 million worth of cash and luxury prizes, Deputy Chief Executive Warren Salisbury said today.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said they felt a sense of disbelief after watching Wednesday's draw and realising they had all of the winning numbers.

"When Big Wednesday first started I thought it might be too hard to win, but after the huge $13.1 million win in February I decided to give it a go and have bought a few tickets since then," says the regular Lotto player.

"On Wednesday night I sat down to watch the draw I wrote down the winning numbers on a piece of paper. At first I thought I had three correct and I thought that's fine I will get a bonus ticket.

"Then I realised I had four numbers, then I looked again and saw I had five. After that I looked at the last number and saw that it was 45 and realised I had that too!"

"I just couldn't believe it. I checked it about four times and then rang a friend and asked them if they had the numbers from the draw so I could cross-check mine, and they were correct.

"Then I rang another friend and they asked me if I was sure that I had this week's ticket. I knew I did as I'd just got it out of my wallet.

"At that point I thought 'Holy Moses', I've won!" says the ecstatic winner.

The lucky player plans to share the win with family. They have won:

- $3,063,729;
- Porsche 911 Carrera;
- Range Rover Vogue V8;
- $50,000 worth of luxury travel every year for five years;
- $250,000 American Express Platinum card;
- Mustang luxury launch; and a
- $500,000 holiday home.

"This is Big Wednesday's second big winner in just over a month and its third big winner this year, proving to our players that our Big Wednesday prizes can be won at any time," said Mr Salisbury.

This is also the second First Division prize to go to a ticket bought in the Coromandel. The first winning ticket was sold in Thames on 8 February and was worth more than $13 million.

"Big Wednesday is proving to be an unpredictable game which is thrilling for us and the players."
