Whakatane Apartment Complex Gains
Record Sales
Unprecedented interest in a Whakatane apartment complex has demonstrated that Eastern Bay of Plenty is gaining appeal as a desirable residential and retirement destination.
All but one of the 15 suites in the White Isle Apartments complex, due for completion by mid June, have been sold for between $520,000, to $1,595,000 for a penthouse suite, a record for a residential property sale in Whakatane.
Harveys Whakatane sales rep, Liz Williams, says “this was the highest sale for a residential property in Whakatane. The apartments, located only 500 metres from the town centre, have been designed to make the most of the views with North facing balconies looking out towards Whale Island and the higher levels enjoying both ocean and island views.”
The five level development comprises an upmarket restaurant and two retail areas on level one, while levels two – four each contain four, two bedroom apartments. Level five is the penthouse floor with two, two bedroom suites and a larger three bedroom ‘penthouse’ including office, extended lounge and dining areas opening to spectacular views.
Architecturally designed, all apartments feature ensuite bathrooms, modern designer kitchens and two undercover secure carparks, with boat parking available for selected apartments.
“The apartments attracted huge interest, offering a carefree, low maintenance lifestyle,” says Liz. “They have had equal appeal to retirees and business professionals.”
Whakatane is enjoying an active property market with its vibrant retail and commercial area and magnificent surroundings of bush, rivers, bays and beaches, appealing to those seeking the ultimate lifestyle.
