Subaru appoints
marketing manager
Peter Douglas-Bell has been appointed the new Marketing Manager of Subaru of New Zealand.
Mr. Douglas-Bell comes to the position with 15 years experience in the banking industry, the last 12 with the Bank of New Zealand.
During that time he held a number of increasingly senior marketing roles culminating in his most recent position as the Communications and Branding manager, responsible for brand strategy, advertising, direct marketing, internal communications and sponsorship.
He was responsible for bringing the bank's "piggy bank" television commercial campaign to the market.
"Peter will bring a fresh marketing perspective to Subaru and the motor industry," said Chris Rickards, the General Manager of Subaru of New Zealand.
"He has a strong background in customer focus, which is important in making Subaru the best purchase experience in our industry."
Mr. Douglas-Bell,
aged 37, has a degree in Management Studies from Waikato
University.
"What attracted me to Subaru is the
outstanding vehicle offering and the incredibly focused and
authentic brand positioning," said Mr Douglas-Bell.
He says his main focus will be balancing the strength of the image of the brand with its volume sales expectations and increasing the direct customer experience of Subaru.
A sometime follower of Formula One, Mr Douglas-Bell, concedes he will be changing his motorsport focus to rallying and the fortunes of the Subaru World Rally Team and the local Subaru New Zealand Rally Team.
