Leading NZ kitchen-bathroom designer takes tally to 30 NZ awards
Leading New Zealand kitchen and bathroom designer Ingrid Geldof Design has taken her tally of national awards to 30 after winning four more awards.
Ingrid Geldof Design (IGD) has dominated the National Kitchen and Bathroom Design Awards since she started business in 1992.
IGD’s Lydia Geerlings won best renovated bathroom, best South Island kitchen and the coveted New Zealand Bathroom Design of the Year award for a Christchurch bathroom and kitchen.
The judges said Geerlings ‘’created a space in which to linger’’.
``The use of marble against wood gives the sense of luxury,’’ they said.
Geerlings will go on to compete in the International kitchen and bathroom design awards in England in January.
Rachel Barnes of IGD was also highly commended for her Wellington kitchen design.
Ingrid Geldof’s run of success is a remarkable record for a top businesswoman from a secretarial and hotel conference management background.
Ingrid is regarded as one of the best designers in New Zealand for her simplicity, aesthetically clean lines and minimising visual clutter. Her design team make kitchens and bathrooms for some of New Zealand’s greatest achievers.
Today Geldof said her Christchurch-based team was thrilled with their achievements at the annual awards in Auckland, last weekend.
``I am lucky we have a great team here. We have a strong passion for what we do. We strive to be the best and keep right up with the pace with world events, trends and attend shows around the world as we constantly improve and develop,’’ she said.
Ingrid has just returned form the Milan international furniture fair.
