2007 Mission Estate Winery Concert Sells Out
Unprecedented demand for music legend Eric Clapton has seen all 25,000 tickets to the 2007 Mission Estate Winery Concert sell out in a matter of hours today.
Peter Holley, CEO of Mission Estate Winery, said while they had predicted tickets to sell very quickly today's strong sales were phenomenal.
"The level of demand has been incredible. From the moment tickets went on sale at noon today we experienced an amazing rush of bookings which didn't let up until all tickets were sold.
"The sales show that New Zealanders from all around the country have a great interest in the event and in our iconic headline performer for 2007, Eric Clapton.
"We are anticipating a fantastic concert in the Mission Estate grounds.
"It's something to really look forward to particularly with the winter we're currently having ? a lovely summer's evening celebrating music, friendships, picnics and the overall atmosphere. "
Garry Craft, Event Director for SEL, said, "We managed to secure the only available date for New Zealand on Eric Clapton's World Tour, scheduling any additional performances would not be possible."
Established in 1851, Mission Estate is New Zealand's oldest winemaker. Housed in an elegantly restored historic seminary building with sweeping views of Napier, Mission Estate offers visitors a year round complete wine experience.
