Holding prices for core fertiliser products

MEDIA RELEASE

6 July 2006

Ballance holding prices for core fertiliser products

Ballance Agri-Nutrients has announced it will be holding prices for base fertiliser products over the coming spring season.

Ballance CEO Larry Bilodeau says the company is pleased to announce that the price of core fertiliser products including, superphosphate, DAP, urea, potash and serpentine super, will be held.

“Although there is increased pressure on fertiliser costs with high world prices, the weakening New Zealand dollar, and some internal cost movements, Ballance will hold its prices over the spring season,” says Mr Bilodeau.

“Ballance is able to offer this to farmers as a result of our strong internal cost control measures, forward foreign exchange cover and the enduring long-term relationships we have fostered with overseas suppliers.

“We are sure that this will be good news to farmers who are facing increasing prices in many areas of farm inputs.”

Due to increased local distribution costs and the rising prices of certain metals, some freight and store charges along with selected trace element prices will increase.
