Harcourts MD Invited to Address Global Real Estate Conference
An invitation to represent Australasia at the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World™ International Real Estate Symposium in Dublin 18-20 June also provided Managing Director of Harcourts International Ltd, Mike Green, with the opportunity to discuss global trends facing the industry.
His own presentation overviewed the industry in Australasia with a focus on auctions, observing “auctions are virtually unheard of in the United States and most other countries and we are clearly leaders in auction expertise.”
The meeting attracted over 100 brokers,
managers, and real estate professionals from top real estate
firms and agencies world-wide to network and discuss global
industry challenges and market demands.
Mr Green noted
key trends facing the industry included “how we must
respond to the staggering growth in the Internet for both
communication and information.” He added that,
“Secondly, the generations we now deal with, ‘Baby
Boomers’, ‘Gen X’, and ‘Gen Y’, with their very
different needs and wants is a challenge we must adapt to in
order to connect with and respond meaningfully to each
group.”
Observing Harcourts and the industry overall, Mr Green said, “Harcourts is very clearly in the top 10% in the world in terms of our systems, and specifically our technology and training. The industry here in Australasia is as sophisticated as any other in the world, and in fact in a number of areas we are clearly ahead of most, including technology, real estate business and management skills, and auction expertise.
The meeting featured expert speakers addressing timely global real estate issues, brainstorming sessions and networking opportunities for members of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, an international real estate network comprised of 650 firms representing 160,000 sales associates.
“Mike Green played an essential role in the success of our first international conference by sharing information about the auction system and the industry in Australasia. He provided insights to help delegates better understand international real estate trends and expand capabilities in today’s global marketplace,” said Leading Real Estate Companies of the World President/CEO Pam O’Connor.
