New senior associates for Minter Ellison Rudd Watts
Trans-Tasman law firm, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, has further strengthened its tax practice with the internal promotion of Amanda Somers and Vivian Cheng to the role of senior associate.
Amanda has been with the firm’s Auckland tax practice since 2003 and has experience as a tax adviser in both accountancy and legal firms. She works with a wide range of clients on a variety of technical and legal tax issues in relation to general corporate tax matters, financing, property, M&A transactions, GST and taxation of cross-border structured finance transactions.
Vivian has been with Minter Ellison Rudd Watts in their Wellington office since 2003. She advises clients on a wide range of tax issues in relation to cross-border structured financing transactions, corporate restructuring, M&A, double tax agreements, GST and withholding taxes. Vivian also has experience in managing tax disputes with Inland Revenue and has prepared applications and obtained binding rulings for clients on a variety of transactions.
Amanda and Vivian’s promotions are in recognition of the experience they hold in their areas of practice. Both senior associates work closely with Andrew Ryan and Joanne Dunne in the Auckland office, and David Patterson in the firm’s Wellington office.
