Excellence recognised At Awards

Last night saw the celebration of 7 outstanding professionals at the 2nd annual awards presented by the Sales & Marketing Institute of New Zealand.

The black-tie event, attended by over 100 people at Auckland_s Spencer on Byron Hotel, is designed to recognise and celebrate achievement in the sales and marketing professions.

The Supreme Award _ Sales & Marketing Professional of the Year went to Colin Campbell, Station Manager of Sunshine FM. The judges praised Colin_s passion and success in leading a local station to market dominance against much wealthier national radio networks.

Colin wins a trip to attend the 2007 American Marketing Association conference.

7 Category Winners were announced as follows:

Marketing Manager _ Corporate: Brett Miller, Frucor Beverages
Marketing Manager _ SME: Colin Campbell, Sunshine FM
Sales Manager _ Corporate: Rene Bros, 42 Below
Sales Manager _ SME: Chris Weaver, Auckland Racing Club
Sales Person _ Products: Michelle Reid, Nobilo Wines
Sales Person _ Services: Rashmi Gupte, David Forman
Entrepreneur Marketer: Leslie Preston, Bachcare
Channel Marketer: no award given.

Each winner received a plaque and $1,000 worth of sponsor goods and services.

About the Sales & Marketing Institute of New Zealand

The Institute with national membership of 3500 has represented sales and marketing professionals for 50 years. It offers members regular networking and educational events, professional accreditation and recognition.

To win an award the process of judging was done from customer nominations, employer testimonials, and peer group reviews by members of the Institute, truly a people reviewing people process.
