House of Travel to Show Europeans the Best of NZ

House of Travel to Show Europeans the Best of New Zealand

House of Travel's inbound company Magnetic South has been selected as the inbound operator for Europe's largest travel providers - TUI Germany.

In a major coup for the young company, Magnetic South will provide a wide range of New Zealand product such as self-drive programmes, city packages, guided tours with German speaking guides, city-to-city tours and more than 50 individual hotels. The company will also look at introducing adventure activities and product to younger travellers in the coming years.

Magnetic South acting manager Derek Green says it was a combination of persistent marketing and the strong relationships that had been formed in Europe that led to the successful tender.

"This is an incredible opportunity for Magnetic South and House of Travel to showcase all that New Zealand has to offer. TUI Germany has recognised that our beautiful country provides a wealth of travel experiences that appeal to the German market, which has led to this major investment decision."

One of the greatest benefits is that TUI Germany will release 500,000 brochures to the German travel trade, including their extensive network of branded agencies, to be released for 2007 and 2008. The brochures will feature an impressive 60 pages of Magnetic South's New Zealand product.

"We expect to see a significant rise in bookings and we are hopeful the deal may lead to opportunities with other European outbound wholesalers. We are looking forward to the challenge and excitement that this contract will bring - it opens up New Zealand to a huge market, which is of great benefit to Magnetic South and the nation's tourism industry as a whole.

MORE

Originally founded as a niche inbound operation offering dream holidays to New Zealand for the discerning overseas visitor, Magnetic South became part of the House of Travel group in 2001. Chris Paulsen, founder and managing director of House of Travel, believed that it was vital for a New Zealand owned and operated travel company to be involved in the promotion of its own country, for both those overseas and Kiwis wishing to see more of their own country. As well as many countries in Europe, Magnetic South also has clientele in Asia, Australia and the USA and Canada.
