Maxnet Breaks Drought On Full Speed Broadband

Maxnet Breaks Promotion Drought On Full Speed Broadband

Maxnet, a specialist Internet Service Provider (ISP), is first to market with publishing their new super fast broadband plans on their website.

In a press release this morning, Maxnet Managing Director Mr Brett Herkt says “it has been hot topic in the internet industry recently with the controversy over the new wholesale plans. Telecom’s practice of retailing its entry level broadband plan at lower than the cost of equivalent wholesale service, has lead to several ISPs issuing a legal challenge.”

Mr Herkt says that the combination of negative margins on some products and the legal activity has lead to the extraordinary situation of no ISP specifically promoting the highest speed broadband available in New Zealand.

“Maxnet has reviewed its strategy carefully to ensure our customers still have access to the fastest connections without eroding the company’s bottom line.”

Mr Herkt says the new pricing plans released to Maxnet customers yesterday and made available to the general public today are highly competitive despite Telecom’s pricing. “Considering that some of our wholesale rates are also higher than Telecom retail, we believe we have come up with a pricing strategy that is attractive for our customers and workable for us,” says Mr Herkt.

“For many companies and individuals, the internet has become a mission critical part of their day to day business. Things like reliability, responsiveness and security are what they are after. That’s where we have placed our focus.”
