Outlander Top SUV
New to the market in February, the Mitsubishi Outlander AWD has staked its position as the top retailing four cylinder SUV for the last five months running, and October looks likely to follow suit.
“After blistering sales records in Japan we were confident Outlander would do well here,” said general manager of sales and marketing Peter Wilkins.
“It’s a great package that suits a broad section of the market, from customers who want a versatile larger wagon to those who require all wheel drive capability for recreational and commercial pursuits.”
Outlander’s styling, large interior space, 8.6l/100km fuel consumption, driveability and exceptional pricing have not only attracted private buyers. The commercial fleet market has claimed 50% of the sales volume and the interest is continuing to build.
“The response we have had from the fleet market has been exceptional,” said Mr Wilkins. “With the current instability of fuel pricing coupled with concerns about the environment, many fleets are down sizing from traditional 4x4’s. For fleets that require a wagon with plenty of space the Outlander also offers a competitive option, with the added versatility and safety of on-demand AWD with active stability control,” said Mr Wilkins.
