Turners Launch The True Car Price Challenge

New Zealand’s largest seller of used cars is offering Kiwis free access to its comprehensive database so they can check if they are paying too much for a car.

Turners Auctions launched the True Market Challenge this week giving potential car buyers or anyone curious about the value of their car, unrivalled market information into what a car is worth, free for the next two months.

People can log on to www.turnerschallenge.co.nz to drill into sales prices of cars sold over the past 18 months. Alternatively they can txt Turners on 3777 with the make, model and year of the car they are interested in, and they will automatically receive a txt back with a price range showing the maximum and minimum paid for that car at Turners.

Graham Roberts, CEO, says the True Market Challenge allows potential car buyers access to Turners actual sales data from the company’s 2005 and 2006 sales.

“This would have to be the most up-to-date gauge available into what a used car is worth. Turners is the largest seller of used cars in New Zealand so we know our figures are a true reflection of what someone is prepared to pay for a car. We expect car buyers to get a lot of value out of this new service,” he says.

To encourage people to try the new service Turners is offering visitors to the microsite www.turnerschallenge.co.nz and txters the chance to go into a daily draw to win a $100 petrol voucher. (One entry per person per day regardless of the number of texts or visits.)

In addition, all people who register at a car auction either in person or online over the next two months go into a draw to win the ultimate prize of a trip to the Melbourne Grand Prix 2007
