Sponsors Commit to Dairy Industry Awards
A family of 11 sponsors and an industry partner have signed up in support of the newly announced Dairy Industry Awards.
New Zealand Dairy Awards Trust chairperson Alison Watters says the commitment expressed by the sponsors is “just awesome”.
“It’s a testament to the legacy of the three competitions from which the awards have been developed – the Dairy Farm Trainee of the Year Awards, the Westpac Fonterra Dairy Excellence Awards and the Sharemilker of the Year Awards,” she says.
“The strength and professionalism of these three events combined is a compelling factor for any organisation wanting to invest in the dairy industry,” Mrs Watters says.
Westpac, Dairy InSight, Fonterra, Livestock Improvement, Meridian Energy Ravensdown, Federated Farmers, RD1, Ecolab, Blue Wing Honda and ACC, along with industry partner Dexcel have all put their weight behind the awards for which entries open on November 1.
There will be two categories in 12 regions around New Zealand for Farm Manager of the Year and Sharemilker of the Year, with the Dairy Trainee of the Year being offered in 8 regions for 2007.
“With this level of industry support we are confident the awards will be a huge success, showcasing the potential of a career in the dairy industry,” Mrs Watters says. “As our sponsors recognise, by getting in behind and encouraging excellence in industry practices early in people’s careers, they are building the calibre of dairying’s future leaders.”
