Ihug Announces New Broadband Line-Up
Ihug today announced changes to its broadband line-up. Ihug now has four broadband connection deals, simply called: broadband 1, broadband 2, broadband 3, and broadband 4.
All ihug broadband plans allow full-speed downloads of up to 7.6Mbps. Upload speeds for broadband 1, broadband 2, and broadband 3 are up to 128k. The upload speed for broadband 4 is up to 800k.
Ihug CEO Mark Rushworth says these plans are simple and uncomplicated for the consumer.
"There are no hooks or catches here," he says.
"Our aim with these plans is to make them simple, while still giving our customers super speedy broadband.
"Broadband for some people is still really complex. What we're doing is taking away the confusion. Customers don't have to worry about reading the fine print or being slapped with a hefty big excess data fee at the end of the month," Rushworth says.
Ihug has also removed peak and off-peak data allowances.
All ihug broadband plans, except broadband 3, offer higher data allowances than Xtra's new broadband plans.
Ihug's broadband 1 and broadband 4 plans have much cheaper excess data packages than Xtra. Broadband 1 and broadband 4 customers who exceed their data limit are charged excess fees per GB, not per Mb.
Ihug CEO Mark Rushworth says he's thrilled with the new plans.
"We've got a highly competitive line-up here,' he says.
"There's really no choice, ihug's plans are quite simply far more attractive than anything else out there on the market right now."
Ihug customers who bundle their broadband with home phone and a calling plan receive $10/month off their broadband, plus free modem and connection without being bound to a contract.
