Dairy Industry Seeks Champions
Entries are now invited for the inaugural New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards.
For the first time, people at three stages of their progression through the dairy industry will have the chance to benchmark themselves against their peers.
The Dairy Industry Awards comprise the Dairy Trainee of the Year, the Farm Manager of the Year and Sharemilker of the Year.
“The dairy industry makes an enormous contribution to New Zealand’s economy,” says New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards chairperson Alison Watters. “The calibre of the people who make that happen should be recognised and rewarded.”
She says the awards programme is about encouraging excellence and about getting people coming through the dairy industry to set and achieve goals.
“This industry offers huge potential to people who have the right skills, the right attitudes and who are prepared to work hard. Entering the Dairy Industry Awards is an opportunity to learn from other like-minded people, to mix with the best, to network with individuals and organisations who can contribute to their future success.
“And then, of course, there are fabulous prizes as an added on bonus!”
Westpac, Dairy InSight, Fonterra, Livestock Improvement, Meridian Energy Ravensdown, Federated Farmers, RD1, Ecolab, Honda and ACC, along with industry partner Dexcel have all put their weight behind the awards.
Entries for Farm Manager and Sharemilker of the Year close on December 20. Entries for Dairy Trainee of the year close on January 31. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.dairyindustryawards.co.nz
