Cuisine Editor's position disestablished New editorial team formed
Fairfax Magazines has made the decision to disestablish the position of editor of Cuisine. As a consequence, editor Simon Wilson will leave the magazine after the completion of the summer issue which goes on sale in December 2006.
Overall management of Cuisine will now be provided by editorial director Michal McKay who already works closely with the Cuisine team and is editor of NZ House & Garden. Michal will lead a Cuisine editorial team comprised of food editors Lauraine Jacobs and Ray McVinnie, the magazines expert contributors and the very experienced and dedicated in-house team.
Publishing consultant Julie Dalzell and wine consultant Kathie Bartley will continue to assist the team.
Simon Wilson made a significant contribution to Cuisine during his editorship and has successfully overseen the magazine through a period of intense competition. Testament to Simon's achievements over the last two and a half years is the fact that Cuisine remains New Zealand's best selling and most read food title. The magazine was also awarded the title of world's best food magazine at the Gourmet Voice World Media Awards 2006.

"This decision has not been taken lightly and comes after a period of consultation and is in the context of the current Fairfax-wide staff restructuring exercise.
