Enjoy Even More of Your Favourite Dish
Jones Publishing is proud to announce that Dish magazine will go bi-monthly in 2007.
An increase in frequency from four to six issues a year tops off a fantastic 2006 for Dish. In May the title won the Supreme Award for Magazine of the Year at the Magazine Publishers’ Awards. (And that was in addition to taking away both Magazine of the Year and Cover of the Year in the Home & Food category.)
The frequency change will take place after issue 12, which is due out in May 2007 (cover date June). From then on, Dish will have the following cover dates – August, October, December, February and April.
Editor Catherine Bell, who has almost 20 years experience in the food industry, has been bowled over by the positive response to Dish. "Reader feedback has shown that people actually cook from the magazine, and don’t just look at the pictures,” she says. “It is very heartening that our audience so obviously wants to be inspired, and wants to cook and eat good food.”
Dish was launched in August 2004. Its latest ABC audit (period January to June 2006) produced a net NZ circulation figure of 21,507. Paid subscriptions now total over 8,000.
“We are simply responding to demand from both retail purchasers and subscribers for further opportunities to enjoy the Dish experience,” says co-publisher Julian Andrews. “Everyone has told us that the magazine is indeed ‘good enough to eat’. Now they just want to ‘eat’ it more often.”
Jones was named top magazine publisher in the latest Search for Exciting Companies in the National Business Review. Jones also publishes Top Gear NZ, as well as customer magazines for Telecom, Resene Paints, Rodney Wayne, Hanover Group, and the New Zealand Retailers Association.
