Europcar To Expand In New Zealand
November 16, 2006
Europcar New Zealand has today announced it will open a new branch in Wellington this month.
The new branch will be unveiled at the Wellington Ferry Terminal on November 20 in order to cater to leisure based clients requiring travel between the North and South islands.
Europcar New Zealand General Manager Charlie Phillips said the move to open a second branch in Wellington was motivated by the need to service the high volume of business coming off the Picton Ferry and a need for a site closer to town in order to offer increased city pick-ups and drop-off services.
“This new branch will complement the services we provide at the current location in Wellington Airport while also targeting clients seeking to travel from Wellington to Auckland. he said.
“By continuing to provide superior services and expanding our presence throughout the country, it further establishes Europcar New Zealand as one of the nation’s leading car rental companies.”
In conjunction with the new branch, Europcar New Zealand has unveiled a one-way special for the duration of the country’s summer, where travellers can rent one of the company’s quality vehicles from $1 a day with a maximum of a 48 hour hire, including 850 free kilometres.
With a fleet of 100 vehicles to operate from the Wellington Ferry Terminal throughout summer, the special is valid until March 15, 2007. Terms and conditions apply.
Europcar New Zealand has 23 branches throughout New Zealand and was first introduced to the country in 2005 as a joint venture between Barnett Transport Systems and Europcar Australia.
Europcar New Zealand is a part of the extensive network of Europcar Asia Pacific, which currently has master franchises in ten countries including Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, The Philippines, India and Thailand.
