Santa’s Calling!
The Warehouse Santa Call in Hot Demand
The Warehouse is wondering how successful Santa will be at fulfilling requests made to its Santa Call service such as a ‘bigger house and new car’, ‘diamond ring’ and a ‘million dollars’!
Parents at a loss for what Santa should bring their children have been requesting free Santa Calls, a service where Santa phones the house, asks the children what they would like for Christmas, and then records the answers in a audio track which is emailed back to the parents.
Cynthia Church, Corporate Affairs Manager at The Warehouse, says “Santa’s been busy, making more than 100 calls a day since the free service began, and some of the requests have been on the quirky side.”
“It’s clear that PSP and Xbox are ever popular, and a large number of boys have asked for scooters and motorbikes. For the girls, Bratz, Barbie dolls and make-up are coming out on top,” says Church.
“Some children have asked that Santa spends Christmas day with them and many have said that they'll leave out milk and cookies for Santa, and to say ‘Hi’ to the Elves and Mrs Claus!” says Church.
To request a Santa Call, parents go to www.thewarehouse.co.nz and provide details about the children, including their names and ages and a contact landline number, and Santa will call their home immediately.
“Our customers gave us strong feedback last year that it was hard to know what to buy children, so we decided to offer this free service to allow parents to get information direct from their kids. It is also a really sweet memento of their children's voices this Christmas. We hope that children get a kick out of it and that parents find it useful,” says Church.
The service is free to anyone in New Zealand, and Santa can even call each child in the family individually.
