SPECIAL EDITION SUZUKI SWIFT
SR2 A TOP VALUE PACKAGE

A new Special Edition version of the Suzuki Swift has added an extra dimension to one of the most popular small cars on the New Zealand market.

Boasting a distinctly sporting appearance, the Swift SR2 five-door hatchback launches with a remarkably low recommended retail price.

But Suzuki New Zealand has only been able to source a limited number of the model that will be available on a first-in, first-served basis.

Based on the 1.5-litre mainstream Swift, the SR2 is distinguished by larger diameter spoked aluminium alloy wheels, a body kit and sports exhaust.

In place of the standard 15-inch wheels, the special edition model is graced by 17-inch diameter TSW Kyalami alloy wheels fitted with Dunlop Direzza 205/40 R17 tyres.

A black European spoiler kit comprises flared wheel arch mouldings, side skirts, and rear upper spoiler, panels in the lower part of the front and rear bumpers and side door mouldings.

The black door mirrors and door handles continue the black theme from the spoiler kit and enhance the unique wrap around window design of the Swift. It is equipped with a Sony CDX-GT350 single compact disc player.

This audio system is MP3 capable, has a wireless remote and four speakers and also features a front input plug for connection to portable MP3 players.

A Coby sports rear muffler is also part of the SR2 package and the double overhead camshaft variable valve timing M15A engine produces 75 kW of power at 6,000 rpm.

The SR2 has dual front air bags, ABS braking with EBD and brake assist, side impact beams, a decoupling mechanism for the brake and clutch pedals and height-adjustable seat belt anchorages.

The sport-oriented version is only available with a five-speed manual gearbox, while air conditioning with a pollen filter is standard.

Despite having more than $5,000 worth of accessories, and including 12 months registration, on-road costs and three years’ roadside assistance, the SR2 is priced at $20,500.

This is a modest $1,100 more than the recommended retail price for the standard, European-inspired front wheel drive Swift.

“The special edition SR2 celebrates another record year for Suzuki and Swift,” said Tom Peck, General Manager of Marketing for Suzuki New Zealand Ltd.

“We have been fortunate to obtain a limited number of units at this remarkably competitive price. The individual looks, low profile tyres and crisp exhaust note are sure to have added appeal to what is already an extremely desirable compact car,” he said.

Suzuki is offering the SR2 in four pearl metallic colours – Kashmir Blue, Supreme Red, White Pearl and Silky Silver.

The new generation Swift has received world-wide recognition, with demand continuing to outstrip production.
