Don't use email to brag about office party antics

PRESS RELEASE – for immediate release

Bizibox Ltd warns not to use email to brag about office party antics

HAWKES BAY (NZ), - 20 December 2006- Bizibox is today warning all businesses to make their staff aware that bragging about their office party antics via email is not a good idea in case they end up being made public.

Bizibox’s Chief Executive Neil Sherratt says “There are many dangers associated with using email which no-one has control over. One is the forwarding of your message by a recipient onto someone else. Before you know it you can be in a lot of trouble”.

“Do not let yourself become a victim of yet another email scandal.” Sherratt went on to say. “Think very carefully before you write anything down, and ask yourself the question is this really the most appropriate thing to do?”

Although they can make for entertaining reading, the unexpected exposure generated is not always good news for either the individuals involved or their employer. Both are liable for the consequences.

Many people have fallen victim to email related instances with the most recent being the high profile case of Don Brash’s stolen emails, as well as that of The Great Marquee Company. A simple search on Google will reveal many many more.
