US Export Success For Local Software Company
A 40 person, multimillion dollar industrial baker in the United States has chosen software from Christchurch company SSi Limited.
23 January 2007. - Los Angeles based Artimex, a food processing business that produces baked and other goods for the Hispanic market, has chosen SSi's GlobalBake product to run its rapidly expanding business.
"The challenge was to find something that we could implement, that would be easy and as useful as possible," says Artimex's General Manager Mark Baca.
After evaluating several systems on the market, they chose SSi's GlobalBake, an enterprise software package designed for running complex food processing operations.
Mr Baca says GlobalBake is helping Artimex improve the efficiency of their operation by getting better information about their 5 day a week, 24 hour a day operation. "GlobalBake is really enabling us to better control our operation."
Artimex primarily supplies California's premier Mexican restaurant chain El Gallo Giro, but is expanding into other retail markets outside the state.
SSi Limited's Sales and Marketing Manager Kerry Glynn says Artimex realises how important managing information is to their business, "They are positioned as a quality provider and understand how enterprise software can be used to keep on improving their procurement processes, production capability and ultimately profitability."
The sale to Artimex was part of the company's growth plans in the United States, says Mr Glynn. "Industrial food processing in the US is a perfect market for a New Zealand software company like SSi, as it is a niche where we can deliver really specific value at a good price for clients."
The Los Angeles-based Artimex adds to GlobalBake clients in New York, Vermont, Virginia, Texas and Arizona. GlobalBake also has clients in Australia, Dubai and New Zealand.
