McAfee Upgrades Consumer Security Suites

McAfee Upgrades Consumer Security Suites To Ensure Compatibility With Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System

Auckland, 7 February 2007 – McAfee, Inc. today announced that its recently released 2007 consumer security software suites have been upgraded to be compatible with Windows Vista. The upgrade is available to active subscribers of the McAfee suites—McAfee Total Protection, McAfee Internet Security Suite, McAfee PC Protection Plus and McAfee VirusScan Plus free of charge, as well as McAfee’s other consumer products: McAfee Wireless Protection 2007, McAfee SiteAdvisor, and McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus. McAfee’s consumer solutions enhance Windows Vista by providing advanced protection against a wide range of online threats and hacker attacks. Consumers can visit http://us.mcafee.com/windowsvista to get more information about McAfee support for Windows Vista.

In addition to the free upgrades, McAfee customers will benefit from new advances as part of McAfee’s leading security-as-a-service platform which the company pioneered in 1999. The latest updates to McAfee security suites improve PC performance through faster browsing speeds, reduced memory usage, and lower demand on the CPU.

“McAfee research shows that online threats are expected to double every two years, and will continue to evolve aggressively. Even with new releases like Windows Vista that are designed with security in mind, it’s critical for us to ensure that the technology we provide is compatible with and enhances the operating system itself,” said Monica Kelly, Director of APAC Consumer Sales, McAfee. “This new upgrade makes sure our consumer customers have the peace of mind and comprehensive security that can only come from McAfee.”
