Take your banking with you

Take your banking with you – Mobile Banking with The National Bank.

The National Bank today announced the introduction of two new services for its personal customers:

Txt-Banking is a simple and quick service that allows customers to send a text request to The National Bank (using a ‘short-code’ – 228) and automatically receive back balances and mini-statements on their accounts.

Txt-Banking is perfect for customers on the go that want to keep track of activity on their accounts, or need to know if a particular transaction has been processed. Customers can receive ‘mini-statements’ on their current and savings accounts and credit cards, and balances on a range of banking products including their term deposits and home loans.
M-Banking is a new channel that allows customers with Java-enabled mobile phones to download and use a small banking application on their phone. M-Banking has balance and mini-statement functionality, and also offers funds transfers and one-off payments to any bank account in New Zealand.

M-Banking has another unique feature – Txt-Alerts. This allows customers to set-up and receive scheduled text messages containing up-to-date balance and mini-statement information to be sent automatically to their phone. A customer might, for example, set up a weekly alert for Friday 5pm to enable them to check balances before heading off for the weekend.

Craig Sims, Managing Director for The National Bank Retail Banking says that the two new mobile phone banking services reflect the Bank’s desire to meet the changing needs of its customers. “We’re a customer-driven organisation, and our customers have told us that they’d value this type of service. We’ve responded by developing a comprehensive mobile phone banking service that gives customers an even greater choice of options in their everyday banking.”

Customers can register by calling 0800 22 82 82 or visiting any branch – or find out more by visiting our website: www.takeyourbankwithyou.co.nz
