Boxer's Smooth Moves Secure Cup

Boxer's Smooth Moves Secure Cup

Karaka graduate Silky Red Boxer (Casual Lies x Soleil Etoile) romped home in the Listed Parramatta Cup (2000m) to record back-to-back wins with Saturday's impressive four-and-a-quarter length victory. Recording his tenth career win in style, the seven-year-old did so in race record time under current Australian Jockey Premiership leader Darren Beadman for trainer Chris Waller.

The win was Beadman's fourth for the day and a successive Parramatta Cup win after winning last year on Mi Casa.

Replicating the result of their last start battle in the STC Summer Stitches & Craft Show Handicap (1900m) Spirit of Tara (Song of Tara x Gagoosh) was second and With a Chance (Commands x Career Collection) third.

Silky Red Boxer has proven a good investment for his owners, the Not Enough Taro Syndicate. Bred by Graham and Helen-Gaye Bax of Blandford Ladge, Silky Red Boxer was purchased for a mere NZ$9,000 from Curraghmore Stud and has now amassed career earnings in excess of NZ$450,000.
