For Immediate Release

New online media company Yahoo!Xtra has today announced the appointment of Phil Armstrong as Finance Director.

A former financial controller at both Prime Television and the Radio Network, Mr Armstrong was most recently an Account Manager for Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport.

Yahoo!Xtra chairman Ian Smith said Mr Armstrong was the ideal person to head the new company’s finance team.

“Phil’s finance and accounting expertise, combined with his experience at the advertising coalface – particularly the knowledge he has of the key Auckland market – gives him a unique set of skills and will enable him to make a great contribution to the team,” Mr Smith said.

A former Head Boy of New Plymouth Boys High, Mr Armstrong graduated from Massey University in 1987.

Yahoo!Xtra (www.yahooxtra.co.nz) was launched in Auckland on February 28, bringing New Zealanders world-leading online content and services with a unique Kiwi focus.
