Media Release: 9 March 2007
Embargoed until 10pm

Volvo S80 V8 AWD Wins 2007 AA Motoring Excellence Supreme Award

The Supreme Winner of the 2007 AA Motoring Excellence Awards has been announced in Auckland tonight.

Stella Stocks, General Manager of AA Technical Services, says the Supreme Award is the AA's highest award for motoring excellence and is given to the very best car currently on sale in New Zealand.

"The 2007 AA Motoring Excellence Supreme Award has gone to the Volvo S80 V8 All Wheel Drive," said Ms Stocks.

"The judges said this was a beautiful all round car - good looking, luxurious with a character packed engine, exquisite cabin design and fluent non-fuss chassis. It doesn't make a big styling statement because it doesn't need to.

"The Volvo S80 V8 AWD fashions not only the complete luxury car at an executive price but also teaches all sorts of lessons in terms of comfort, safety and ergonomics," said Ms Stocks.

The Volvo S80 V8 AWD sells for $109,990.
