Christchurch Airport Achieves Third Place In Global Service Quality Award
Christchurch International Airport Ltd. has been placed third for ‘Best Airport’ at the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality Awards in Dubai. The award recognises Christchurch Airport’s outstanding level of customer service and dedication to making the travellers experience a positive one.
“We are delighted to have received this award and it is a reflection of the commitment by Christchurch Airport staff to service excellence across all aspects of the business,” said Chief Executive Rene Bakx. “This is a fantastic achievement for the airport and is in keeping with our vision to excel in the delivery of airport services as the gateway for the Best of the South Island.”
The award category was for airports with between 5-15 million passenger movements per year, and was based on the results of over 200,000 questionnaires gathered on a quarterly basis from 90 airports. Christchurch Airport was placed third behind Central Japan Airport and Adelaide Airport, both of which have been redeveloped in the last two years.
The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme
provides multi-dimensional benchmarking of an airport’s
service performance with airports of similar size, in the
same region, over time and on a worldwide
basis.
Christchurch Airport has been placed in the top
three of this category since the awards commenced two years
ago.
