Changes Hands
23 March 2007
As part of an ongoing expansion programme for the Harcourts Grenadier group, the Christchurch based franchise has bought the Harcourts Greymouth office from the Harcourts Gold group.
Harcourts Grenadier Directors, Rob McCormack and Peter Greene co-own seven Harcourts offices (Christchurch City, Avonside, Avonhead, Ferrymead, Beckenham, Cashmere, Sumner). They also have a dedicated business broking division, and commercial division in Christchurch which includes a management portfolio of over 65 Christchurch buildings worth $150 million+ with body corporate management of some of the city’s most prominent apartment buildings.
Mr Greene noted that since Harcourts Greymouth opened just on two years ago it had built a highly successful team due to the vision of the original owners, Harcourts Gold, and the commitment and excellence of the locally based office management and team.
Harcourts Gold Directors John and Lynette McFadden, and Judy Curnow co-own Christchurch offices in Papanui, Redwood, Parklands, New Brighton, and most recently, Strowan. Judy Curnow said, “Establishing Harcourts on the West Coast has been a very exciting and rewarding experience for the Harcourts Gold Group. The West Coast team has been an absolute pleasure to work with and we know the team will continue to grow and develop very successfully under the Grenadier umbrella.”
Mr Greene noted that there was a strong synergy between residents of the West Coast and Christchurch with many holding property interests covering residential and commercial on both coasts. “The West Coast has experienced significant development in recent years including in traditional townships like Greymouth and Westport, through to emerging ‘resort’ areas like Lake Brunner and Lake Moana. We look forward to meeting our clients’ needs from both sides of the coast, whether they’re first home buyers, seeking a holiday home in a spectacular setting, or investing in the commercial property needs of a growing number of successful West Coast industries.”
Harcourts Greymouth Manager and local resident, Lynette Hourston continues in her management role, playing a key part in the ongoing success and future expansion of the office.
