Bowater Hyundai opens in Nelson next week

That cute toddler is heading his Hyundai Santa Fe to the Nelson surf this week, as Bowaters’ gear up to open the nation’s newest Hyundai dealership next Monday.

New Zealand’s fastest-growing mainstream car brand is a great fit with Bowater, Nelson’s leading car dealership family for the past 60 years.

Bowater Hyundai opens in new premises at 45 Hardy Street, Nelson, and Nelson drivers will be the winners.

“Hyundai has the range of cars and SUVs to suit our local needs,” comments Group Managing Director, Rodney Bowater.

“Our team is genuinely excited about the opportunity to provide the Hyundai driving experience to Nelson people.

“It’s a brand which has come a long way in recent time, in quality, range and value for money.

“The Santa Fe with its great TV commercial and also the Tucson are award-winning SUVs, and in the car range right from the little Getz and Accent, through Elantra up to the Sonata and Grandeur … they are all winning accolades on the world stage.

“Then right across the range there are diesel models, which of course is what New Zealanders are increasingly looking for.

“This is a great time to be opening Bowater Hyundai.”

Hyundai Automotive NZ, which has seen the addition of a steady stream of new quality dealers nationwide recently, says Bowater’s pedigree will be an asset to the brand.

“It’s important to gain such credible dealers, to ensure we continue to grow and provide ever-better service to Hyundai owners,” said Managing Director, Philip Eustace.

“We took a long time to find the right dealer in the Nelson region, and we didn’t want to settle for second best, we knew we had found what we were looking for the moment the Bowater Group approached us to take on the franchise. It is a credit to the brand to be acquiring such a high caliber of dealer.”

• Hyundai is on a meteoric rise in New Zealand with almost 400 percent growth in four years and numerous new locations among its 23 dealerships. The brand has been imported into New Zealand by the Giltrap Group for the past 25 years.
