Zew Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand

Polycom announces appointment of new Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Michael S Chetner has been appointed to take over the role of Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand, effective 01 April, 2007.

Sydney, Australia, 02 April 2007 - Polycom, Inc. [NASDAQ: PLCM], the world's leading provider of unified collaborative communications solutions, today announced the appointment of Mr Michael S Chetner as Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand effective
01 April 2007. Mr Chetner will report directly to Hansjoerg Wagner, Asia Pacific Regional Managing Director and Vice President of Sales at Polycom.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Mr. Chetner was formerly the Director of Polycom Sales Operations for the Asia Pacific region since March 2005. His new appointment recognises the valuable contribution he has made in leading strategic sales planning in the region, including successfully restructuring Polycom's go-to-market model and managing Polycom's Strategic Partners in Asia Pacific.

"This is an incredibly exciting time to be moving into this new role as a Polycom Country Manager," said Michael Chetner. "Polycom leads the market in voice and video conferencing endpoints and bridging infrastructure. We deliver the only end to end collaboration solution and enjoy global relationships with a wide range of partners such as, Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, and Nortel as well as with service providers such as AT&T, BT, Telstra and Verizon Business. My previous role managing these relationships in Asia Pacific has provided me with insights that I will now leverage at the local level. As we move communications and collaboration beyond conference rooms to desktops, mobile devices and Telepresence suites, and integrate them with our partners' IP communications infrastructures, we will increase our value to our customers and grow our presence further in Australia and New Zealand.

"I look forward to increasing the awareness for enterprise products such as our high end Telepresence Suite, the Polycom RPX(tm), for which there has been considerable interest in ANZ. Polycom will also offer a distinctive VoIP go-to-market strategy, offering award winning IP handsets and conference phones in partnership with leading soft-switch vendors.

"I am very pleased to see Michael take over this responsibility," said Hansjoerg Wagner. "He has been key player in the Asia Pacific Management Team, especially in expanding our go- to-market model to allow the region to capitalise on Polycom solutions that integrate with our global Strategic Partners in the Unified Communications space. Michael has worked hard with the region's Country Managers to re-model our distribution structure to ensure we can better support our existing Channel Partners, as well as with new Partners who, themselves, already interface with our global Strategic Partners in the converged IP technologies space.

Wagner added, "Michael has a wide commercial background in various roles at BHP Billiton in Melbourne and London, Vodafone in London, and as Sales Controller at Polycom for EMEA. With his deep understanding of our business and his strong business acumen, I have full confidence that he will do a great job as the ANZ Country Manager."

Mr Chetner will be spearheading Polycom's investment plan in the Australia and New Zealand markets, which is strengthened by the recent acquisition of SpectraLink. The launch of a new Polycom Melbourne office and an aggressive hiring plan are already in the pipeline.
