Dan goes global with Jockey
3D
Champion
first-five Dan Carter continues to wow them on the rugby
field from Aussie Stadium to Twickenham. And now he’s
tackling global fashion markets – this time in his
Jockeys!
New Zealand’s very own rugby royal is being launched as the international ambassador in the United Kingdom and 23 markets in Europe for Jockey’s innovative new 3D range. New publicity material for the range[1] features pictures of Dan shot in Chicago after he played in Europe at the end of last year.
The innovative new underwear launches here in New Zealand today (Apr. 4, 2007). The Jockey 3D collection has five different ‘silhouettes’ and has been developed from findings based on the body scans of thousands of people.
Jockey’s Paula Newbold says the new 3D technology features sophisticated patterns that enable the garments to mirror the movements and shape of the human body.
“Dan’s an action man and Jockey 3D is designed for people on the go. The eight-way stretch cotton spandex fabric provides not only a comfortable fit throughout movement but also one that flatters.”
For more than two years Jockey USA invested time and money in product development and anatomical research, Paula says. They scanned every square centimetre of 11,000 human bodies using laser technology and digital asset management.
“The result is a garment that creates a second skin to fit perfectly no matter what the body shape.”
And body shape is what consumers around the world are seeing of Dan Carter. In a similar vein to Carter’s first two Jockey campaigns, promotion material features a giant billboard of the athletic rugby star in freeze-frame action. And body shape is definitely not left to the imagination.
